3 Tips We Can All Take From Tom Brady and Apply to Our Careers

January 24, 2022by atlashartmann

At Atlas Hartmann, not only do we care about the success of our team, but we love supporting our local community and basking in the city’s camaraderie. In this case, we’re keeping up with our Tampa Bay Buccaneers and cheering on their achievements along the way! With 13 wins under their belt this season, we know they’ll continue to leave a lasting impression. We contribute their success to how they work together as a team, as well as to the leadership of the infamous Tom Brady. Brady leads by example, showing there’s always room for growth, personally and professionally. Today, we want to share three tips we can all take from Tom Brady and apply to our careers. Take a look!

  1. How you care for yourself internally shows eternally.

There are plenty of ways Brady takes care of himself internally, including knowing how to control his emotions, maintaining strong health, and believing in himself. Brady knows that the sky is the limit, and he never lets himself get knocked down without pulling himself back up to try again. It is his persistent dedication to show up that makes him such a relentless teammate and leader. He works on his mindset, thinks through situations before acting on emotions, and instills these principles in others. Not only does he take care of his mental health, but has a strict dietary regimen that he abides by daily (with a few cheat days here and there for some high-quality pizza and bacon). He believes if something doesn’t fuel his body or mind, why should it have the benefit of joining his life? For further details on his health regimen, check out his personal brand, The TB12 Method.

2. You can only go so far alone.

You may be the BEST person in your home, office, or town in your profession, but if you never accept wisdom, expertise, and support from others, you will ultimately come to a standstill. If there’s one thing we know about Brady, it’s that he aims to use his leadership skills to BUILD up others; to create even more leaders. He doesn’t want to be the only one who can achieve something, he wants to see others carry successes along the way. If you’re a business owner, mentor, or leader, this is exactly how you should strive to think. As they say, rise by lifting others!

3. Loving what you do is important and it’s all about balance.

Whether you’re a seasoned businessperson or new to your career, one thing remains true. Loving what you do makes the biggest difference, not only in your career but in your overall work-life balance and wellness. Brady is clearly passionate about his position with the Buccaneers and that makes the time, energy, and dedication THAT much more worth it. It’s a big reason why he hasn’t begun to burn out after all these years in a tough industry. While his career is an important part of his life, it is not his only “why.” Over the years, Brady has grown a beautiful family with his wife, Gisele, and makes sure that they are a key part of his focus. Afterall, work-life harmony is crucial to success. You can’t pull from an empty cup!

We hope you were able to take something away from Brady’s role as a leader. At Atlas Hartmann, we know we have, and we can’t wait to implement his principles and see how we evolve. Here’s to never-ending growth! In the meantime, you can find us cheering on our Buccaneers!
