From Jakarta to Miami: How Kevin Wirawan Found His Path at Atlas Hartmann

June 10, 2026by atlashartmann

Kevin Wirawan grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia, surrounded by a family that made one thing crystal clear: people come first. His parents instilled in him a work ethic and a sense of purpose that would follow him across continents, and their example remains his single biggest source of motivation today.

As a kid, Kevin dreamed of becoming a pilot, drawn to the independence that comes with navigating uncharted skies. It turns out that instinct wasn’t far off from the kind of career he’d eventually build.

After high school, Kevin pursued an engineering degree in college. Leaving Indonesia for a university on the other side of the world was a formative experience in its own right. He learned quickly what it meant to stand on his own—to be independent, resourceful, and adaptable in an environment where nothing was handed to him. Those early lessons in self-reliance became the foundation of everything that followed.

A New City, A New Direction

In 2025, Kevin and his wife moved to Miami after she accepted a job there. It was a big transition, and it came with a practical challenge: the engineering roles available locally didn’t align with his background. Rather than waiting for the right opportunity to appear, Kevin began exploring industries he hadn’t previously considered.

That search led him to Atlas Hartmann, a Fort Lauderdale-based sales and leadership development firm. What stood out immediately wasn’t just the role itself—it was the trajectory. Kevin was drawn to our clear path to growth and the culture of people who genuinely enjoy working alongside each other. He joined our team on February 24, 2025, starting in an entry-level role and has since advanced to Senior Account Manager.

“Atlas Hartmann is a place that allows me to prove myself, grow, and develop professionally.”

Building Skills, Building People

Since joining, Kevin has grown into a leader in the truest sense. His role has sharpened his communication and pushed him to think beyond individual performance toward the success of the people around him. One of the accomplishments he’s most proud of is watching leaders on his team develop their own leaders, a ripple effect that speaks to his approach to his work.

His greatest leadership asset, by his own account, is empathy. He’s learned to read the room, pick up on nonverbal cues, and address issues before they become bigger problems. That attentiveness has made him more personable and more effective at building trust with both his team and his customers.

Mentor Jason Goldberg has been a significant influence on Kevin’s leadership philosophy. The approach Kevin has developed centers on empowering people, providing genuine, constructive feedback, and learning to motivate each team member based on their individual strengths and areas for growth.

One of the harder lessons Kevin has had to work through is learning to have difficult conversations. He found early on that his discomfort with criticism was getting in the way of actually helping the people he leads. The realization that avoiding hard conversations is ultimately a self-serving choice, not a kind one, changed the way he leads.

Eyes on the Horizon

Kevin’s ambitions are equal parts personal and professional. In the short term, he’s working toward a promotion to Assistant Manager. In the long term, his goal is to retire his parents within five years, a goal that says everything about who he is and what drives him.

“Your goals should be bigger than your excuses.”

For anyone considering this kind of career path, Kevin’s advice is straightforward: listen more than you talk, welcome feedback, and stay resilient. The skills this work builds, from leadership and communication to pushing through discomfort, translate far beyond any single job title.

Kevin Wirawan arrived in Miami without a clear plan, but with the right instincts. At Atlas Hartmann, he’s found the environment to build something worth being proud of, for himself, his team, and the family he’s determined to take care of.
